Your teen holds it together at school, at practice, and with friends, then falls apart at home. You know they need help now, not after a waitlist. Winter break gives you the time to finally get it.

I'm Kristen Hanisch, LCSW, and through Therapy Intensive Reset I offer 2-hour EMDR therapy intensives for teens ages 13 to 18 struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and low self-esteem. I lead every intensive myself, in person in Fairfield, NJ and virtually for teens in New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, Vermont, and South Carolina. Winter break dates are limited.

HOLIDAY PROMO —
LIMITED SPOTS!

Does This Sound Like Your Teen?

→ She's up past midnight redoing an assignment that was already finished, because it "wasn't good enough."

→ He says "I'm fine" at dinner, and you hear him pacing his room at 1 a.m.

→ She can't say no to anyone, then melts down at home because she's exhausted from keeping everyone happy.

→ One bad grade, a missed shot, or an unanswered text sends him spiraling for days.

→ They know the coping skills. You've tried reassurance, apps, maybe even therapy. The anxiety still wins.

→ And you're tired too. You're walking on eggshells, second-guessing every word, wondering how to help without making it worse.

When There's No Room for Weekly Therapy

Maybe you've been on a waitlist since September… Weekly therapy spots are full, and your teen's week has no room for one more standing appointment. Winter break is the opening. An intensive uses the days your teen already has off, so they can head back to school in January with tools that actually work for them.

Normally $960, now only $650 —
includes strategy session, EMDR intensive & college coping toolkit

How It Works

Step #1

Pre-Interview
(60 min)

I meet with you and your teen to learn what's driving the anxiety, set clear goals, and build a personalized workbook.

Step #2

Therapy Intensive Session
(2 hrs)

Your teen learns and practices coping skills for stress and emotional regulation, then uses EMDR to reprocess the memories and fears behind the anxiety.

Step #3

Added Bonus

Your teen leaves with a personalized workbook of EMDR resourcing skills to use at home. These are the same tools practiced during the intensive, so your teen can steady themselves when anxiety shows up over break or back at school.

A THERAPIST FOR
ANXIOUS CHILDREN & TEENS

with a modern, relatable approach

I help anxious, high-achieving teens break free from perfectionism, people-pleasing, and self-doubt — so they can feel confident, emotionally grounded, and fully prepared for what’s next.

Whether your teen is battling anxiety, stuck in an overthinking loop, or barely holding it together, I help them (and you) work through the overwhelm. I use EMDR, DBT, and real-life tools your teen can actually reach for the night before a big test. We focus on what helps, not what just sounds good in a therapy office.

One focused 2-hour session gives your teen room to go deeper than a weekly hour allows. My goal is for them to leave feeling lighter and more grounded, with practical skills to calm anxiety, handle big emotions, and face everyday stress with more confidence. It's focused, hands-on work, so they head back into their lives feeling capable and supported.

WHAT IS EMDR?

EMDR is a powerful, research-backed therapy that helps the brain process and release stuck emotions — especially around anxiety, stress, or past experiences.

EMDR helps teens feel more confident by targeting the root of their anxiety — not just the symptoms. It clears out the negative beliefs like “I’m not ready” or “I can’t handle this” and replaces them with healthier, more empowering thoughts. As their nervous system calms and those old thought patterns shift, they start to feel more capable, grounded, and ready to face challenges — which naturally boosts their confidence.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the 8 phases of EMDR —
and how each one helps your teen feel more in control.
