ANXIOUS CHILDREN & TEENS

I help anxious, high-achieving teens break free from perfectionism, people-pleasing, and self-doubt — so they can feel confident, emotionally grounded, and fully prepared for what’s next.

Whether your teen is battling anxiety, stuck in a cycle of overthinking, or just trying to hold it together, I help them (and you) move through the overwhelm with evidence-based support. Using EMDR, DBT, and real-life tools they can actually apply, we focus on what works—not just what sounds good.

In just one focused 2-hour session, your teen will feel lighter, more grounded, and more in control. They'll walk away with practical skills to manage anxiety, regulate emotions, and handle life’s stressors with more calm and confidence. FAQs

  • Therapy Intensives are more effectiveand efficient than normal 50-minute therapy sessions. Typically in a 50-minute session, there are at least 5-10 minutes of “check-in” at the start of the session and usually, 5-10 minutes spent on “closing up” or “checking out” at the end of a session - Leaving only 30-40 minutes for deep therapeutic work. Therapy Intensives are different.

A 2-hour Therapy Intensive allows for the full 2 hours of depth work. That’s the equivalent of at least five 50-minute sessions or more than a month of therapy - in a single day!

  • If your teen is struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, or emotional regulation and needs more than traditional weekly therapy, an intensive can provide focused support and faster progress. During the initial consultation, we’ll determine if this is the best fit.

  • Every teen is different. Some see significant progress in just one session, while others benefit from multiple intensives. We’ll discuss your teen’s specific needs and create a plan that works best for them.

  • Absolutely! Therapy Intensives work very well as an adjunct therapy. I would ask that you sign a Release of Information so that your child’s current therapist and I can collaborate/coordinate to best serve you!

    • EMDR intensive - $600

WHAT IS EMDR?

EMDR is a powerful, research-backed therapy that helps the brain process and release stuck emotions — especially around anxiety, stress, or past experiences.

EMDR helps teens feel more confident by targeting the root of their anxiety — not just the symptoms. It clears out the negative beliefs like “I’m not ready” or “I can’t handle this” and replaces them with healthier, more empowering thoughts. As their nervous system calms and those old thought patterns shift, they start to feel more capable, grounded, and ready to face challenges — which naturally boosts their confidence.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the 8 phases of EMDR —
and how each one helps your teen feel more in control.
